Grief and Loss Portfolio Project – Coping with Death

Description
“
When a loved one passes away, making sense of the grief that comes as part of this experience can often be difficult and overwhelming. With Grief and Loss Portfolio Project – Coping with Death, you’ll get an accessible resource that helps young people make sense of the emotions they are feeling in a supportive environment.
This portfolio project starts with facilitating open dialogue amongst those affected. This constitutes an important first step for moving forward, finding peace, and otherwise healing from a traumatic event. Since every individual is different and will cope with loss differently, this project allows individuals to explore their own journey at their own pace in whatever form or fashion works best for them such as journaling, breath work, and much more. And when talking about death becomes too difficult, this resource provides alternative strategies to develop coping skills which will serve them during future times of emotional distress.
This portfolio project is perfect for school counselors and school psychologists. It can accompany a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum or health lessons as well. Download this portfolio workbook activity and you’ll have all the tools you need to help your students and families navigate loss delicately and thoughtfully.
