This SEL Character Education Lesson focuses on the theme of judging. This is often an underestimated topic, but it is important for children to learn not to judge others because judging others based on appearance, abilities or background can lead to unfair and harmful treatment.

Through this lesson, students will explore the consequences of judging others from all perspectives including the consequence to themselves. Learning the importance of judging others can support students to develop empathy, respect and acceptance for people. This promotes positive relationships, improves social skills and creates a more inclusive and harmonious community. This lesson is a great foundation to support children to become kind and accepting adults who are then better equipped to navigate the complexities of our diverse world.
