INTERNET SAFETY Game for Girls Online Safety Cyberbullying Digital Drama SEL
$8.00
When a new online friend says “you’re special to me, just don’t tell your parents,” would your girls spot the red flag? Behind the Screen is an internet safety game for girls in grades 6-8 that helps students spot catfishing and fake profiles, protect their privacy, recognize love bombing and pressure, and know what to do about cyberbullying, online drama and sextortion. If you’re looking for online safety activities, a digital citizenship lesson, a cyberbullying game or internet safety lessons for middle school girls, this one covers it all with zero prep.
Group chats, social media and DMs are where a lot of friendship pressure and girl drama happens now. In this interactive PowerPoint counseling game, teams work through situations girls know well: a friend request from someone claiming to go to their school, a best friend asking for their password to “prove” trust, posts that show their school and live location, a new contact who keeps calling them their soulmate and threats to share private messages. Every answer comes with a clear teaching point, and the message stays the same the whole way through: if something feels wrong, stop, save the messages and tell a trusted adult, even if you’ve already shared something. It works well in small group counseling, girls’ groups, SEL lessons, digital citizenship and health classes.
HOW IT WORKS
Split your group into teams. Teams take turns picking a question on the game board, talk it over and answer out loud. Click “Check Answer” to show the answer and teaching point, then award points on the built-in scoreboard. The team with the most points wins.
